Patron PDF Idea Submissions
Unfortunately, I've decided to discontinue the PDF idea submissions. Here's why:
- I've found that very few people participate in the reward to begin with, so it appears to have little appeal for the majority of patrons.
- Many of the suggestions we receive are either in violation of the SRD (which we must legally comply with) or just aren't ideas that we're able to use for other reasons.
- With the shift to using freelancers for most of the content, I would much rather give them creative control over their work rather than force them down a certain path. This makes for a happier working relationship, more ownership on their part in the content they create, and I feel better for just letting them do their thing and not trying to micro-manage their work.
So, I apologize to everyone who enjoyed the idea of being able to contribute ideas. However, I figured it would be better to just be upfront with my observations and give you the straight scoop as opposed to not saying anything, allowing the submissions to continue, but then just never use any of them.
This sort of thing happens from time to time. You decide to try something out, discover that it isn't working as well as you had hoped, and then decide it's necessary to discontinue it.
