The video is not just about this part of the machine which is the drum BRAIN but also the interestingly designed pressed aluminium drum pads!

I'm looking back on this video after implementing a drum synth in Bitwig Grid and noticing how the transient punch circuit is hyper common in drum synths as is the pitch shift. It doesn't sound like a "modern" synth drum without it. I'm going to add a bp filter to the noise osc in Bitwig to see how close I can get to this sound. I like the idea of a single "circuit" making an entire drum kit since it opens the option of morphing between kit elements.
