PE SYNTHESIZER WORKS + SFX SOUNDS TO USE
Added 2023-04-07 22:40:48 +0000 UTCsuccess today, VCO 2 is now working (it was the big ceramic timer cap in the integrator part of the oscillator core), nearly 50 percent of the potentiometers have been replaced, and as far as im aware the whole thing is working as it should be. its quite a learning experience about the synthesizer and how it was modified throughout the series how it was actually being rolled out, which means some quite interesting things which i will talk about.
its oscillators are not great, and the voltage control standards for the oscillators and the envelope generator is completely backwards to convention, for any synthesizer i know of, wether linear or logarithmic response or anything inbetween, this works on negative voltages, meaning 0v input is a low note, then -1v is a higher note and -2v is higher and so on. also the envelope generator is not S TRIG (requires being sent to Ground to be triggered on) or V TRIG (requires a positive voltage to be triggered on) this one requires a negative voltage!.
i have a plan to put together a converter box tomorrow evening for it, hopefully in a livestream and explain some other findings. the converter box for now will just be an inverter with a scale control.
right now because of the dodgy oscillators, and also the keyboard being nowhere near done (which actually has better oscillators inside of it!) it is best described as a complicated space sounds generator :D. a good one@! but still haha spaaaaaaaaaaace.
