2021-09-08 19:13:12 +0000 UTCWild idea I had while watching the latest vid (solid state vs valve bruel and kjaer). Since we've established that you can remote control the knobs via stepper motors, what if we had a logic board attached to a musical key board and gate, then chooses a unit that's close to the note, winds it to the correct pitch and opens the gate. Example being, person presses an A#. The logic controller looks at all the available units, picks a unit playing B, adjusts it to A# and opens the gate. So on and so forth as someone fiddles with the keys. Might be way too much of a project and we still don't know if the gearing inside the units is accurate enough for such tuning but it'd effectively make an organ out of Bruel and Kjaer 1022s.
