Oh I got into trouble with Mum and Dad for repeatedly calling Dial-A-Disk, not realizing that it cost money! I don't know if itemized bills had come in at this stage (~1979), but if it had there'd have been rather too many calls to Donna Summer and Gary Numan. I really should have just bought the records, but mine was a very non-musical house, so I had no idea how to even buy a record at the time.

Sam, your dedication to the cause is amazing. I love what you are doing with the phone kit. When I was a teenager I was able to get free calls to dial a disk in public phone boxes with a very simple hack). Don’t report me as I think I’ve passed enough years to be beyond prosecution [hopefully]). You might like to google “telephone party line” for a laugh if you don’t know what what of those was.
