2020-09-14 01:01:04 +0000 UTCHave you seen the midibox FM project? http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_fm.html It's a bit dated now (PIC based and last updated in 2014. But it uses the OPL3 chip you can get off a bunch of old sound cards - I was able to find a half dozen in my junk bin that had them when I built mine. Can be built with a nice control surface to expose most things you'd want to tweak for performance and/or be controlled over MIDI. Mine has mostly gathered dust just because I didn't have a +/- 12v power supply to run it off. Now that I'm building a modular and have that available I need to dust it off and build the control surface for it...
2020-09-14 00:55:13 +0000 UTCI built a controller for the ymf262, using an Arduino Nano, but quickly hit the 2k memory limit. All of those features like built in LFOs should be possible, but 2k is really not a lot to work withβespecially when the registers alone are 512 bytes!
