BUILDERS LIVESTREAM

I wasn't particularly awake by the time I got rolling on this! I have noticed a fair few mistakes I made. I guess its a fun game of figuring out what they are!

fredrik: I've never tried to use a linear regulator in that way. So I put a 7805 on a breadboard just now and attached 1k Ohms across the output to simulate a several mA load. I got 3.6V out for 5.0V in. Thanks for the enlightenment!

Thanks for this! I'm new to the patreon and while I've dabbled in electronics you really explained this in a way I can understand. You're definitely tempting me to not be afraid and try it! I gotta start looking for a bread board starter kit.

indeed Jeff!! I must admit I wasn't very awake last night and made a few silly boo boo's! ill redeem this eve haha

One thing I noticed: You're powering your breadboard with around 5V, then feeding it through a 7805 to power the OneShot chip. The 7805 has about a 2V dropout voltage, and I'm not sure how it responds when you starve the input like that, but you were probably delivering a little less than 3V to the chip. This may partially account for the low output voltage from the chip.
