Bit late to the party here, but I had a bit of a drunken thought - what if you hooked 2 drives up to avoid the gap when stepping.... The idea being that when the index on drive A triggers, it somehow switches input/output to drive B, then steps drive A making it ready to be switched back to. Then when the index on drive B triggers, it switches back to drive A, then steps drive B. And so on and so . So a kind of buffering system to avoid the gap when stepping a single drive. Meh. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about - but it's an idea."
