VLOG 95 SILLY SEQUENCER PROGRESS

so yeah! the next breadboard in your face. Hopefully by the end of this video you may see why I am actually beginning to change the use and idea of the big knob sequencer. Which I will explain in the next breadboard in your face video.

I noticed when doing this video I think I may have the dirty dac slightly mixed up as it looks like the bits are in the wrong order oooops.

:D

Been looking into using a similar build to make a sampler. Waiting for my EEPROMS and other chips to arrive to experiment. Should be able to program the EEPROM with an arduino with encoded audio. The plan is to use a clock signal with a hex inverter (maybe even just a 555) into binary ripple counters to generate addresses to retrieve samples from memory. Throw that into a resistor to resistor DAC. The hope is to program an EEPROM with sample data. You could change how fast the addresses are called to alter playback speed, and the order in which the addresses are recalled to do some kinds of granular synthesis. At the very least, it could be used as a wavetable synth. The separate module circuits idea is grand. I was bouncing an idea with stacking PCB 100mm x 100mm with bus connectors. Usually PCB is cheapest when you order in those dimensions, so if you could have these modular components, they could be useful in that way, but also in experimenting with new whole modules. It would enable us to take a DAC from one module and use it with another project before committing to building it out. MUSEUM OF EVERYTHING ELSE WAAAAAAAA
