VLOG 88 coding with logic IC's instead

and here is the latest video! todays vid! looking at fredrik's gameboy minimachine swell as animation submissions!

So since this vid. Antoine below raised a fair point which I overlooked, the droop of the sample and hold circuits, whilst I was aware it was to be an issue I didn't really think about it in the practical setting. it will lose about an octave every hour at the best of times. but a fair point was raised about using Sram chips instead. and using a counter to run through ram address lines. more to come on this!

Vids like this, when I get to the end of this project I will probably be making public on the channel its on LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER BUT MORE SERIOUS ISH. but I have a feeling this project overall (the big knob project) won't be done for a couple of months or so! so leave a comment on the youtube vid if you want.

hey Simon! yes same here I do enjoy coding but there's just a brick wall I get to that I can't get past, with electronics that doesn't seem to be there haha. I use Kicad. after the learning curve of my first circuit board It was quick to pick up! it has got its quirks mind!

I'll probably stick to Arduinos for the time being since weirdly enough I kinda enjoy coding... Building a drum sequencer next week for drums modules I don't even have yet and it's all your fault :) Btw Sam, what software/online tool do you use to design those PCBs of yours ? Wasn't too thrilled with the ones I tried so far.

deffo a good read, however thoroughly bland. but thats my kinda book ha

Pretty cool - you've learned lots from this book, I gather? Enough to recommend?
