The first iteration of the Tuner module is coming along!

i know i know, im backing up a fair few projects to get videos out! i'm going through bit by bit on the fart box i haven't finished filming it, to send a perfect working one off to kursa and get this vid out on how to build it!!

As for the filter, im a little unsure how to move on, basically as you know its the filter in my modular its always been the filter ive used and it was the first one i turned to pcb like you saw in the last vid, It serves its purpose for my personal use however im trying to figure out where i stand. so its an ms20 style filter that is fine. However the circuit was initally put down to the diy community by mr rene schmitz. he swapped the darlington transistors for opamps and reduced the amount of clipping diodes. Like i mention in the video of how to build one of these things!   i have tried to reach out to him but to no reply. The circuit i use is quite modified but the heart is still the filter he describes. So Where do i stand? i will be making the project open source, but the question is can i sell the pcbs for people who want stupidly oversized modules? haha i don't suspect i'll sell many but its more that its there for people who want them. If anyone is in the know! please let me know what you think!

As for the second module i am putting down to PCB, it is a tuner module, which after my last tour, i've found out is imperative. This is the first iteration of it. i have a LOT to change. initially i had a romantic idea of having a loada discrete components but its just an absolute ballache to solder, i need to up the current limiters to the LED's as the voltage regulators run a bit hot.... and i need to finish the code. i haven't quite filled in all of the octaves and what the lights should be doing on each note!!! BUT SO FAR!!! IT WORKS PRETTY WELL. from a ""no real coding knowledge, just sheer thumbling determination"" much like the big button project.... when you see the code, it may look rather backwards but atleast it works :D. Needless to say this will become a video and a project also!

I decided to do the tuner next as i have had an idea for an oscillator module in my head for a long time now (infact i drilled a panel for it about 3 years ago) its basically 3 CEM3340 oscillators with some more functions, octaves etc , each with their own preset tuning and a tuner display, then a mix stage for them all. which i think will be the next module i lay down, after i finesse this tuning module (so i can take it and pop it into the oscillator module).

This whole PCB thing is rather fun and i predict there will be a fair few projects on their way! initially in KOSMO format (20cm aka METRIC 5u) but one day i may wake up with the urge to convert the projects to another format......(it begins with an E)

Needless to say, ones like the above tuning module i will also make stripboard layouts.

:D

definitely will be on the cards at some point!

Oh dear - a beast :-) Could also be cool with a 1 oscilator, 1Kosmo unit (10*20) version pcb

size wise? it will be 40cm by 20 cm :) to replace the one i have in my rack

man, I look forward to the CEM oscillator. Do you reckon Is it gonna be 30*20 ?

Sam, these boards are gorgeous. I heard somewhere that if you ever code something that "feels like a hack but it works," just remember that a CPU is literally a rock that we tricked into thinking.
