VLOG 52 GAMEBOY SWITCHING MATRIX BUS BOARD

ive ended up going full circle. i think im going to be using VCA's so then it can be also controlling amplitude too. just incase i get to the point and its all aaah no! it would have sounded cool if it was more of a fade in out kind of shinnagan instead of hard switches. seinse their is also the option of external control over these. damn this is getting oh so tech! ha.

interesting! yeah im looking into this board today. i have some analog switches sitting around. ill give it a go as quick switching speeds may be cool for some sort of effect later down the line.. cool!!!

Was just going to suggest an analogue crosspoint IC or analogue demultiplexer or something similar!

The trick to making an analog switch chip work as good as a relay (better if you want quick switching without mechanical chatter / bounce) is to follow the switch chip with an opamp buffer. Analog switch chips have an on resistance that varies depending on the voltage of the signal. If current flows through the switch, the varying resistance becomes varying voltage and distorts your signal. When you have an opamp's + input pin following the switch, there's virtually zero current through the switch so it just passes the voltage like a relay would. Well, except for the mechanical switching time and chatter.
