SAFETY VALVE VCA PROJECT :)

Due to many people asking on here for schematics, i'm going to design both, meaning i can whack out a PCB also. when it comes to the time.
So this is what i got for a VCA for the DIY synth series... i could have done a standard VCA (that is still on its way) but i figured i should do something a little different.
This is probably not how you should do a VCA it is rather lofi in its function but it is a VCA nonetheless.
Its based on the safety valve low voltage valve distortion, which i started by tweaking to get a bit more gain from, then basically cut the cathode plates of both halfs of the 12ax7 tube from going to ground via a npn transistor (wired in backwards). Results are rather unwieldy, but thats half of the fun!!

Very sorry! I missed this. It doesn’t matter which way around. 4/5 is the heating element. Basically a rubbish light bulb filament. So it can be wired in either way :)

I'm just learning electronics, so I have no idea what difference this will make lol. I will go with the other schematics for now and see what happens. Thanks for the amazing builds!! Can't wait to hear how this sounds
