That's very good of you to respond so quickly and thoroughly. I'll check your zine first and if I can't understand it I may come back to you, but I know you are busy and it is not urgent for me. I'll see how far I get thanks again.

hey matt these sequencers work the same as the sequencers in my zine, and the button sequencer video. the arduino sends out the 5v from each pin, into the potentiometer, and the potentiometer just attenuates that signal. the signal doesnt actually go back into the arduino. as for the switches! i merely swap the potentiometers from the CV sequencer with just on off switches, therefore the step is either on or off. then i add at the end an and gate, and mix it in with the incoming clock, bring a contant on back into just a trigger. if it doesnt make sense i can draw the sequencer out!!! :).... i did it this approach with 6 arduinos as i already had this code, it worked, and i wanted the sequencers to work completely seperately from one another. :)

Was wondering how you converted 16 switches to 16 on/off states in the arduino. I guess you could put a binary ladder of resistors between the switches to create unique voltages, but that seems like doing the ADC's work for it. I can see that there are 8 ADCs in the Arduino Nano. So if you used a binary ladder then I guess you wouldn't have needed 6 arduinos. I'm a bit new to this, wondering if you could give me a small clue :-) Thanks

brilliant.
