Why does it still look the same!!!!?????

well.... long story, a very long and very Argh kind of story. The last 3 or so days (plus a couple before Christmas) have been spent going "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS"...

When i started adding more gameboys to the mix, aswell as more circuits here and there it gradually got a lot more flaky, notes were dropping out, sounds were going all weird and gameboys were crashing.

It got to the point that i figured i needed to go back to square one. So this last 2 or 3 days i've been doing just that.

Im still not sure what is going on but i've put a lot of changes in. This is the first time i have taken power filtering quite seriously, By having a 1 ohm resistor going into each module aswell as 47uf electrolytic capacitors to smooth any noise going back into the various power supplies.

I tried completely isolating parts of the ground loop using opto isolators, but the problem was persisting.

I've also ended up buffering absolutely everything everywhere, with MOSFET's For some reason that was the only thing that would work.

The only thing i'm struggling to buffer is the high precision oscillator going into the CPU clocks, i have a feeling somewhere down the line this is going to bite me!

There has just been a heck of a lot of odd behaviour.

Before i go to the next step which is filters and VCA's i need to get this stuff bomb proof.

sorry its taking so long! its just turning out to be an absolute arse of a project!!! But hopefully very rewarding when its done.

Im documenting as i go, so when i have stuff solid ill be able to share, as its changing quite regularly.

Shooting a gameboy update vid tomorrow! after bulding some more CPU modulators.

And bring on new year! Modular mega mix number two is coming along nicely!! aswell as the VCA and Envelope generators are looking easy (i thought i would be on to them by now on this project but these problems put it back a bit!!)

Why does it still look the same!!!!?????

Best of luck dude! I'm following you on this and I'm getting frustrated in my work. You getting frustrated and persevering is helping me to persevere through the junk get to the aha moments of understanding that make it all click! Your a great inspiration keep it UP!!! YOU'LL GET THIS!

The gameboy can’t hack so much information. It gets confused. Thank fudge for solving that. But I’m glad I buffered everything as I feel that would have been a problem later down the line
