Hey everyone, ZoranTheBear here!
I wanted to update you on how everything has been going for Narrative Declaration, along with asking all of you for feedback on various things! Your feedback will help us make future decisions to help us grow. And depending on which direction we go, you may see some old characters return (even if for just a brief moment).
The community and the amount of support we've received have been amazing. The Games Workshop policy change shook things up for us. And with everyone's help, we hunkered down and put together another show with more quality and comedy than before. I think we're kicking butt in so many ways with the show Rotgrind and our PDFs. And my current objective is to get more eyes on our streams, videos, and PDFs to help grow the show so we can do more!
But I need some feedback to help us make some decisions.
Patreon has been an excellent platform for us. However, there are some annoying tidbits about it, such as the lack of analytics for things like downloads. We currently do not know how many of you actually download the PDFs or Mp3 files for our preview episodes. This information becomes vital when deciding which PDFs to produce for all of you. So we've made a google form asking for feedback about this, along with various other questions that'd really help us know what you're looking for!

Another piece we'd like an opinion on is our internal plans to release several pieces of content out for free.
We've been discussing how we handle our PDFs and world setting. How should they be branded? How do we get more people interested in them? What should we make PDF-wise? Do people even want PDFs? We're currently tackling the question, "what do people need to get introduced to our setting, and begin playing in it?"
We've decided to develop several pieces of content that we'd release for free. This includes a Player's Guide, a Primer to Outset, and a level 1 adventure set within the city of Outset.
These guides are a significant undertaking, involving thousands of words, dozens of art pieces, a ton of rules, and a lot of coordination behind the scenes. We want you--both as players and game masters--to be able to enjoy our setting and prepare to journey through the world of Tyne.
We wanted to bring this up with you, our community, and our supporters to ask if it's okay for us to do this? The objective with these PDFs is to have them available for free to reach a wider audience of TTRPG players to help grow Narrative Declaration.
So we decided to provide something exclusive. We wanted to do a 1 shot that'll only be for our supporters. We don't want people to feel cheated out of the big PDF releases. And we do plan to still include some Patreon exclusive PDFs during these PDF's development.
The pitch is we'll take the characters from WarHams (Pi-Braine, Lorn, Reeb, and Zedek) and remake them in the world of Tyne. And they're running a tavern called "The Debt Collector.(or Tab Collector HEHEHEHEHE)" And they have to deal with the horrors of doing so in such a world.
We even joked that Zedek would be the "manager." Reeb, the bartender, Lorn the cook, Pi-Braine the bouncer, and Odoroshi's character Zilly would be hired as the new waitress.
This episode would be a subscriber-only stream on Twitch, and the YouTube VOD would be a Patreon exclusive.
Yeah, we giggled a lot with this idea. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.
We have a lot going on behind the scenes, and the team is excited to keep trucking on making laughs with all of you!
Thank you all for your continued support, and see you next episode!

2022-04-10 20:20:00 +0000 UTCWell, the idea of the Warham boys in a oneshot got me to join. Think your on the right track with ideas like that.

2022-04-10 05:35:29 +0000 UTCWhy not a oneshot on the totally not debt collector airship featuring Vaali as a green crew member? That way we get backstory, and OnCallGm can be utterly ruthless with the survival of the ship. Beyond that, I'm fairly happy with how things have been. I'm mostly an audio listener so I appreciate the MP3s.
2022-04-09 18:21:54 +0000 UTCI think the free guides are a great idea as long as they are not too difficult for you guys to work on along with everything else you do. Also please do the one-shot. I love the new characters but I miss the old characters. I would love to see the old characters, even if it is just one more time.

2022-04-09 12:25:14 +0000 UTCOh I totally endorse the one shot idea. I also like the idea of making the basic materials (Player Book, Primer to Outset, and a starting adventure) for free. It'll be a good sampler for the system and setting.

2022-04-09 00:13:19 +0000 UTCRegarding pdfs, I think it's fine to release the majority of them to the public. Maybe have delayed public releases, maybe have some particularly special things behind Patreon to entice new people, etc.
