Awesome vid as always! Fun fact: they actually made a sequel to that Master Trainer board game incorporating stuff from Johto. Haven't played it in a long time, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but I remember it being a lot better balanced and more fun overall than the original version - most notably, they added a level-up system, there's Gym leaders to fight who give free bonus Pokemon to whatever player collects their badge first, and while the game still ends when the final boss is beaten, the winner is decided by a points system based on the Pokemon and badges you've collected. That said, it's still got a couple issues, most notably that the evolution rules don't really account for Pokemon with branching evolution paths - if you're playing RAW, whoever gets a couple Eeveelutions first inevitably becomes an unstoppable juggernaut.

2024-09-14 04:00:16 +0000 UTCWith OG Fallout, if you dig into the game files there was a Gurps Ruleset for Fallout and even figures you could print out and assemble as board pieces... I didn't know what Gurps was so assumed it was something Interplay invented... I learned years later I was wrong.
