Elfie Process!
Added 2016-09-09 04:30:40 +0000 UTCAfter posting the process for the fel druid, I thought Iโd write more about such things. My techniques are a strange and constantly evolving thing (as some of you might have noticed, looking at my drawings from even a few months ago :P), but this is what works for me currently! Right now! At this very moment!
- Flats. I fill in all the empty spaces. Like doing a coloring book, basically
- Then comes the shading. My style leans towards comic-esque, and it has taken a few experiments to come up with something consistent in terms of where to shade in order to bring out the facial features
- Adding highlight is really my second favorite part about coloring. I like things glossy and shiny xD
- Canโt forget the blush ๐
- Okay, my favorite part about coloring is actually adding eyeshadow. I havenโt used any outlandish colors for any of the characters Iโve drawn actually... Usually itโs a darker shade of the color I use for the lips with Multiply for the blending mode
- Since the edges of things are often lit by ambient lighting, this step is actually quite important to make the drawing pop
