The Next Big Story (Harry Potter)

Dear patrons. The time has come to decide the next big story you will get from me. Agent Potter nears its end, and it is imperative that the next story's premise is decided.

You have three stories to choose from:

1. Black Dawn 

On the night of Halloween, 1981, a butterfly flapped its wings and once the two most prominent houses of Magical Britain were reduced to all but a single member— A toddler who vanquished a dark lord minutes ago and an old man who had, in another age, made a dark lord tremble.

And with all that had happened, Albus Dumbledore made a very different decision. A decision to keep the promise he had made to Lily and James Potter by intertwining the destinies of the two who had lost everything and giving them what they both needed: A family. 

So, instead of taking Harry Potter to the Dursleys, Dumbledore took him to the last lord of house Black.

With a duty to his brother in all but blood, Charlus Potter, and a purpose to make the House of Black great again, Arcturus Orion Black decides to take Harry Potter as his ward. As his blood. And above all, as the Heir Black.

And with that, everything changes.

Notes:

• It will start on Halloween 1981 but will soon leap to Hogwarts years within a few chapters. 

• Harry will be a lot different from canon due to everything that comes with a different upbringing and being the ward of House Black and most importantly, the tutelage of Arcturus Black.

• Slytherin Harry, who will be a prodigy in the field of transfiguration. He will also be decently powerful, but not OP. 

• Tonks family and elder sister Nymphadora Tonks :)

• Slightly manipulative but a good Dumbledore. 

• Lords, old money, and politics: everything you expect from a Harry Potter-Black fic and much more.

• Haphne pairing (With the slightest sprinkle of HarryXFleur.)

2. The Potter Odyssey

What happens when in a single night, everything you know changes? When a miracle of fate both makes and destroys your life? 

The Potters survived the night of Halloween with their family intact and healthy. The dark lord had been defeated but with roses, came its thorns. 

Hunted by the followers of the dark lord, hounded by the government and mysterious departments, and layered with the wish to protect their child from all of it, the Potters leave Britain to forge a new path. A path that will take them all around the world. 

But it is not a journey they would’ve to undertake alone. Joined by a family fleeing the shadows, they tie their destinies together with a single purpose: To protect their own. 

And what happens when the journey comes full circle? Does it end? No, a new one begins as Britain comes calling, and Hogwarts calls them home, welcoming them with a deadly tournament, a government of lies, and old enemies running free. 

Will the Potters and the Greengrasses be ready for it all? And perhaps more pertinently, will Britain be ready for them?

Notes:

• Harry and Daphne pairing.

• Both children have had a worldwide education of different things with their own skill sets and advantages.

• Will start Halloween 81, fast forward a decent bit to Harry and Daphne being older and concentrating for a while on their adventures around the world plus their education before moving to Hogwarts in Goblet of Fire.

• Greengrass family with a dark-ish past.

• Astoria and Harry’s little sister as the loveliest characters.

3. The Headmaster’s Decision

To choose between what is right and what is easy.

It was what Albus Dumbledore had told his students as they had departed from Hogwarts. He had told them to remember Cedric Diggory and make the decision for themselves.

Though, Albus Dumbledore never realized one thing. He himself had been making the easy choice instead of the right one when it came to the child of the prophecy. A choice to let fate run its course regarding Harry James Potter.

But what if Albus Dumbledore realized this? And what if he took his own advice to do what was right? 

And with that, a decision was made. A decision to prepare Harry Potter to face his destiny and to do all it took to free him from his burden instead of letting fate run its course.

To do what was right rather than what was easy.

Notes:

• Starts at the end of Goblet of Fire

• Dumbledore trains Harry. Mentor Dumbledore (pretty obvious)

• Good, competent Dumbledore yet still slightly manipulative.

• Delves into obscure magic and deeper magic theory. 

• Harry will steadily grow in power.

• Pairing to be decided
