It is a little odd how much work Blake has put in on the ride home, to set this up. I think he might be really into the idea! This page was pretty fun to do. I really like the poses here.
I was concerned blake's deer chompers might look a little weird to some people, but that gap's natural
Deer don't generally have top incisors, actually. but he needs to smile sometimes. I guess now we know he can wear a bridle, though i don't know if he'd be into that.

i feel like i haven’t drawn a page where someone’s ears poked into another panel in a long time. Honestly it’s very difficult to frame these shots, with character with such nonhuman proportions. You just kind of want their heads in a certain part of the shot, so you do what you have to do. if you’re lucky you can lead the eye through the page with them~

2023-09-14 07:14:14 +0000 UTCI figured I’d look up what real deer mouths look like on the inside and now, thanks to you, I know that there is a species of deer in China with huge fang-tusks and no antlers. I’m not saying we should add that to the future critters list, but c’mon! Vampire Deer!
