Misc Poll : How To "color" Sketches?

So hey, quick question.
I color-code the sexes of characters in my sketches, for clarity's sake. I also do this so that, while clear, there's a big difference between what a 'Sketch' and a finished, colored pic looks like. This makes getting a sketch finished more valuable, and keeps me from wasting time coloring a sketch that will get inked and colored again later.
But i feel like , at least on my gallery sites, people aren't super into the color coded sketches, or worse, think that i'm actually drawing a blue vulpix or a pink pikachu.
I can color sketches in a simple sort of way like on the right without spending more than a few minutes on it. But i'm concerned it might 'de-value' the finished pieces? I dunno.
So, what do you think i should do?
