Dev Report #47 (May 2nd, 2025)

Episode 13 is finally finished which means it's time for episode 14.
The first beta for it will be the first 2 scenes. Being returning home and surprising Zoe.
I'm not setting a release date or timeline, work left on it is mostly remaking a few animations and a few renders.
Not the extensive iteration after iteration that plagued E13. Just some tweaks as this content was made many months ago.
And apologies for disappearing for most of this last month. It was mostly due to mental health stuff. I'm not sure of the exact cause, probably a mixture of many things but I completely disassociated.
Feeling mostly better now, finally being finished with the number 13 has helped a lot.
I'll be posting a few character sheets this week on discord. I'll include the ones I finish in the next dev report which should be next Friday.
I also intend on posting the daily tracker again in discord, not sure exactly when I'll start but it should be soon.
That's all I have to share for this week. I hope all of you have great weeks and I'll see you guys next Friday.

I'm kinda hoping that BrainDrop will officially take a break, get his head sorted out, and find whatever support he needs. After that, I hope he can come back to this game refreshed and able to enjoy working on it without getting wrapped up in overthinking expectations and won't fall back into the trap of promising more than he can deliver. I may be protecting here, but I get the impression that the more he promised and failed to deliver, the more his expectations of himself escalated in an attempt to make up for the failures, and the greater the expectations became, the harder it became to deliver anything at all. Anything he could realistically deliver would never have met with what he felt he should be delivering and he got too lost in his own head to be able to deliver anything at all. Or, perhaps I'm just being too generous and he really is just the scammer that certain people on here would like to believe him to be.

2025-06-21 05:13:56 +0000 UTCSo it’s been more than 45 days (A MONTH AND A HALF) since you said you would post a dev report “next Friday” and we haven’t gotten a single word. This is beyond disrespectful, this is your job, we’re paying you, and I do understand the argument that we are “supporting” you and not paying for a product, even though I disagree, but even with this argument this is your income, we are supporting you and you just spit in our face by not sharing what progress you have done so far, you can’t be bothered to write one or two sentences a week to keep us informed, even if it’s just “haven’t made much progress this week” this would take you 2 min A WEEK. Not only that but you said ep. 14 was done about a year ago, yet you need more than 40 days to release it. What is happening??? Have you given up? I’d like to believe you aren’t purposely delaying releases to get more paychecks every month, but it’s getting almost impossible to believe that. A lot of other devs post very long and comprehensive reports weekly and have monthly releases, it’s not impossible, or even difficult to do. Please either get better at communicating and keeping promises (releases and reports) or just pass this project to someone else who’ll respect it and its supporters.

We players don't usually mind when a game gets behind schedule, but when a creator I pay can't even give me the respect of 10 minutes each week to let us know how the game is progressing, then i have problems. These are not the actions of someone bogged down by life giving it their all but facing setback after setback, These are hallmarks of a dev who has given up. No matter how rough his life is he has time to write a ten minute post. Everyone does, it's not hard in the slightest it's actually one of the easiest thing humanly possible; Write a few sentences about what you did on the game this week. SIMPLE. The fact that we are this behind and the dev can't even bother to be punctual when reporting to the people paying him thousands a month. He has almost 3000 paying members, thats not a small bit of money; I could live off of those payments and have change to eat at my favorite taco place every day. We are giving him enough money to make an entire living off of yet he can't bother to tell us how the project is going and how much progress this month of funding made. Thats ridiculous, get your shit together. You should be employee of the month every month it's ur game, right now i'd fricking replace you if I could. I don't care much tht the game is behind but the fact you can't even answer to the people supporting you? thats FUCKED dude.
