Let's get straight into it.
I set Episode 13's release timeframe between July 2nd and July 5th. Today is July 7th and nothing has been uploaded. My abysmal track record with releases continued on. So, what happened?
Episode 13 wasn't ready to be uploaded at the end of June because I changed the order of the scenes. Notably moving a scene after Jasmine's date to before it.
There were continuity errors that had to be fixed both in images and dialogue which I knew about and thought I could knock out in a few days no problem but I am now sitting here with egg on my face.
Numerous issues popped up that I didn't account for. But all is well, there isn't any massive anything, the issues are mostly technical and I've been grinding through them and as soon as I am finished with that, it will be uploaded.
This is not an excuse, it is an explanation. It is my fault for setting expectations for a release before everything was finished. It was a big mistake to do so.
I am not going to go silent again, everything will be uploaded asap.
I'm unsure if Episode 13 will be finished in time for today but I'm going to be up and grinding away at it until it's available for all of you.
Episode 14 will likely need to be pushed back a couple of days but I'm going to do everything I can to have it out by the end of the time frame.
Sorry again for needing yet more time. It will be out asap.

2024-07-12 14:25:42 +0000 UTCfrom BD this morning on discord "Borpa — Today at 4:09 AM To give you guys some info as I agree the "still working on it" isn't enough right now: I'm not splitting Episode 13 and 14 into separate updates anymore. The entire reasoning I had to split them no longer applies. Preferred them together anyways but wanted to have something for you guys sooner but was unable to do so. When I mentioned technical issues I pretty much encompassed everything that wasn't creative or personal so probably not the right term. The main things have been crashes, loading times (for scenes in daz, especially after a crash), render issues, animation issues, and compiling issues most notably for the android version, ren'py has been crashing or just failing everytime I try to build the apk. Basically just a lot of little shit adding up. And I did end up needing to change more than I thought I did with the scene that moved. I am happy with the change to the scene order but it required more to make it fit right than I thought it would. This became the main reason for the delay, just exacerbated by the tech/software stuff. As it stands right now, I still have some render work to do on a couple of scenes (2-2.5) and I have a couple of animations that need to be rendered/re-rendered. (1.5 / 2) Everything that isn't on my list right now is locked in. Work has been ongoing, the release times were a huge mistake. I will keep you guys updated on what becomes finished and what I have left." we're not getting the updates for a while it appears. That dosent change the fact that he is "fixing things" from episode 13 for like 5 months since it was just finished besides some bugs.

True, sometimes if you write TOO simple code it can take time to revise it if you have to move things around. But in general the images and the story are the time consuming parts.

That just makes it seem your milking your patreons so f. hard. Every day makes hard to belive that you really had something finished and you just "fixing things"... I mean, im a developer and i work on a product that is bigger and hard to code than renpy... obviously im not a solo developer for that product but anyway for people like me its hard to believe that you are just fixing things. If you spend that time working on fixes, you have a serious problem on how you work. Maybe you should stop for a bit, and try to figure out what its happening before keep going to avoid this kind of problems every update.

Well they didn't do what you paid them for either! Seriously, take a break and remember to think before you post next time please. There are many many MANY AVN creators on Patreon that actually stick to their deadlines. BD does not. Facts. I'm patient and have been a supporter of BD for several years now, so I know his routine and I can wait for his delivery. But I still have the right to voice my opinion and say that it annoys the crap out of me when he sets a deadline and doesn't deliver, time after time. And he needs to hear the criticism. How do you expect anyone to improve if all they hear is praise even though they're not even delivering on promises they themselves gave?

You set them, work your ass off forcing yourself to get things done by them, which only creates problems, and then the dates pass by weeks sometimes. Unless you're 100% confident you can get it released by a certain date, just don't pick a date, or at minimum just say the month you feel like it could be done by.

I personnaly prefer a dev who takes the time to make a good game. WVM in my book is a good game for what it is. Is it the best around, who knows. That depends on your criteria and your taste. For my taste its a good one. Its like the tv show you like to watch. Is it as good a a big block buster movie... No, Not if you like showy effect or CGI... But if you like a good story, lots a cool character, a lots of spice, and some feeling... its a good game to have fun with. :)

I mean... this is more of an "interactive story" (with fewer and fewer choices over time by the way) than a game. I'm not saying WVM is bad, I'm just pointing out that it's far from being a game and needs all the work that a game requires.

Hell I throw money at Star Citizen and that has be in development for over 12 years. Its call patients, if you don't have any then move on and stop trying to bring BD down. Pessimism isn't needed here.

Renders, the birthday sets, not just information. I've seen other devs that go months without a word. Others that go an entire year without any DLCs. So keep up the good work.

It was in testing in april and he didn't tell us he was adding more until months later. if he told us back in Feb that it would be released in Sept we would be less impatient but because we think its right around the corner only to find out its not 10 different times it pisses everyone off. Its not a new thing and it is dissapointing.

I think some people on here just assume that myself and others are directing hate towards BD which definitely is not the case at all, I love the game as I'm sure everyone here does and that's the reason we are still here waiting, imo BD has something special with this game and hopefully he takes these comments as constructive criticism rather than hate because that's exactly what it is. Take Doc Pinkcake for example, releases 1 maybe 2 updates per year but he is transparent in that and hits his release dates every time. Nobody complains because we know what we are getting and when we are getting it. We are all happy to wait just stop providing dates when you have clearly shown you struggle to hit them and let us and yourself down.

2024-07-07 20:49:28 +0000 UTCthe fact that BD has not released an update yet is not the crux of the issue, most of the people who have raised their concerns (me included) about releases couldn't give a shit about waiting and are very willing, i would rather a dev take their time, the main issue is the announcing of dates then those dates being missed, i have been here for over a year and it has happened with every release, that is where the frustrations come from. he even makes a point of mentioning it in his post, which itself is annoying, that he knows he does it and continues to do it. so its annoying when you have a vocal minority voicing their concerns (people who are passionate about WVM and want BD to succeed) are shot down by the majority telling us to "shut up", "just wait" or "leave BD alone" just because we aren't "yes" people and simping for BD. IMO, i think the best way forward now for BD and the release of the Ep 13 and 14, would be finish Ep 13 100% and piecemeal it out over a month, maybe the first drop is the rest of the Spa Day, the next update is meeting delilah then Jasmines Date,etc, then the same for Ep 14, that way he should give him some leeway and most of all, time. sorry for the long one guys.

I've got 1 game for you, Summertime Saga, recently released the 1st part of the tech update after 2 YEARS and hardly any feedback or info from the creator, at least Borpa keeps us relatively up to date on what's happening with him and the game... just have patience

Seguramente son esos los que te solapan TODO pero pues que les queda decir si ya pagaron un año? Pero los que mes con mes estamos pagando?? Es obvio BD nunca va lanzar NADA mientras siga viendo la entrada de dinero y la gente tonta lo siga solapando,que caso tiene que hagas reembolsos o que nos tengas aquí sin pagar si no nos das contenido? Ahora a esperar otros 7 meses o mas para que traigas una actualización toda pedorra,la verdad estoy demasiado decepcionado 😥.

At the end of the day regardless of paused pledges he's providing a paid service and failing to deliver time and time again! I run my own business and if operated the way BD does I'd be out of business in no time. It's not acceptable and people giving him constant praise need to wise up! We are entitled to be pissed especially when it's just like a broken record now! WVM has potential to be one of the top games around if he just sorted his own head out but yet again he's letting us and the product down with the constant delays and excuses.
