Yo (Release Dates & Important Info)

What's up, everyone? It's been a minute since I've made an actual post.
In the time since the last post, I've been dealing with some issues. Both dev-wise and personal-wise. But that's not what I'm here to speak on today. I'm here to talk about the upcoming updates.
Honestly, this update should have been out months and months ago. I made way too many mistakes in this process and I take full accountability for that.
But, in all of this time I worked on things as much as I could. I am nearly finished with both Episode 13 and Episode 14.
Most of the teasers above are from Episode 13. Which is now a larger update than previously communicated. Episode 13 is now around 700 renders and 15+ animations.
This update includes A new ending to the spa scene, Daliah's introduction, Jasmine's date, the flight home, and a few additional fun scenes.
I tried very hard to rush things to be ready for the end of this month, been awake for a few days right now. Sadly, my rushing caused me to run into some issues so things will not be ready in time today but will be out soon.
I know for the past few months I've said something similar to this, but I'm not going to let myself fall back again. I'm going to stagger the updates to make things easier on me.
I know I'm the worst person on the planet when it comes to release dates. I've missed almost all of them. But I'm very confident in setting these time frames.
Episode 13: July 2nd-5th
Episode 14: July 9th-12th
More info on Episode 14 including multiple teasers like this post will be posted in the Mind Drop on July 6th-7th.
Speaking of, weekly Mind Drops will be returning every weekend. I will also start posting the daily tracker again after Ep14 is released.
I am sorry for how long things have taken, it is solely my fault and I feel awful about it.
I am only unpausing pledges because I am taking care of and helping a lot of people right now and I am fully confident that the updates will be out.
But please, if you're not feeling it and want to cancel your pledge or whatever. I 100% implore you to do so. I have been fucking up and none of you owe me anything. As mentioned in the header, you will still receive these updates at the same time as everyone else as long as you're in the discord. And thank you for the support you have given me, truly.
For everyone that will be sticking around, I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. I do not deserve you guys. My life stuff is finally out of the way and things are set up for me to get back on track.
I don't want to speak on my future plans in this post, but the general idea is to return to smaller but more frequent updates.
I got very lost with this one, and when things took too long I panicked and felt like I had to do more to make up for it, which just led to more and more issues. A lot of the same old mistakes sadly.
But, heads up high and better days are ahead.
Alright, I think that's all I have to say for now. I'm going to get a little sleep in before continuing on.

2024-07-06 15:07:16 +0000 UTCI'm not saying the frustration isn't allowed, just don't want BD getting discouraged or dispirited and making any issues hes facing that much worse. Building something like this can be a bitch when something goes wrong as you waste time troubleshooting, then something else changes and causes other problems, then you find things you didn't know were going to be problem on top of that. Then on top of everything else you are under sever pressure to deliver on time which can cause you to freeze up or create its own stresses and all sorts of other issues. I can promise the absolute most frustrated person is not us, but rather BD himself. We just come in on deadline days and check back every once in a while, hes living and sleeping it. Also agree on the delay waiting for 13, but changes are part of the creative process and who's to say the story we eventually get isn't miles better than the version from a few months ago. Its hard to change a story once its out there and I'm sure he gets ideas all the time that will make the end product that much better. One thing I can say is he does deliver and if it takes longer there's almost always a correspondingly larger amount of content to compensate. Agree though perfection and staying inside your head can keep things from moving out, and can be the enemy of good enough, but with the quality he has delivered so far, even if its late, I'm ok waiting. Just want him to know his work is appreciated.

To be perfectly honest this entire year has been waiting on episode 13 and every month this year it was to be released until BD got into his own head and started changing things if he's going to do that all the time just leave the dates out period

Contemplating releasing everything up to that point until it's fixed but I'd prefer if it would be included. I might but idk yet, will let you know later today. It won't take me much longer to fix either way, either tomorrow or Sunday. so it's anyones guess if it will be tonight tomorrow or sunday or later date who knows

I just want to promote that while it's not what everyone wants, I'm sure we'd all prefer a slow, small release schedule over the creator getting overwhelmed trying to meet all these expectations and quitting. We're all here because we enjoy the game, and however it needs to be changed to make it more manageable for them to keep up with, I'm fine with.

2024-06-30 12:28:38 +0000 UTCI think it's important to keep in mind that while extra things are nice (in-depth project reports, daily progress trackers, etc), it can become a mountain of responsibility that ultimately burns you out. The AVN community recently saw another creator try to do too much, and ultimately burn out and post an indefinite hiatus. I don't think any of us want that to happen to you. If you need to scale things down and make it more manageable so you can get back into a groove again, I think everyone would be ok with paying for a month with no significant changes. I know I'd rather that than just not having this AVN continue thanks to burnout. Please make sure you take care of yourself first so we can continue to enjoy the things together and it be worth the effort for you.
