Firstly, the next weekly will be released on Monday instead of today or Sunday. I was invited to hang out with some friends I haven't seen in a good minute and I've been going giga hard since January so I admittedly could use a small amount of time to reset. I've only taken a handful of days off since my return and even on those days I'd still find a way to sneak some work in. So I'm going to take this time to rest and reset before getting right back to it. I love what I do but I don't want to repeat mistakes of the past and burn myself out by pouring too much into WVM.
Though, I do plan on double releasing this upcoming week. Monday and Friday.
I held a poll recently for what days you guys would prefer for me to release updates on. After combining results between Patreon and SS, Friday seems to be the winner.
I would like to make clear that Fridays will not be hard set days, just more of a target day.
So after the releases this week, I'll try and target Fridays but the days will vary.
The goal is to release 52 small updates before April next year. That requires averaging a release every 7 days but some of those will be 4 days apart and some 10 days apart. We're currently behind schedule but I knew the start would be rocky with having to finalize things from the backlog as well as trying to plan out things for the season 1 rework on top of trying to catch up on side content.
I don't plan on rushing to catch up, we're only about to be 5/52, there's plenty of time left to work those days down. Right now the goal is to just land near 7 days between releases every week.
And speaking of the rework, I still wasn't able to make a graphic this week to report on progress. But I do have a few numbers to share but these are not completely final. More so ballpark numbers as some things may need tweaked.
Rework Progress:
6950 still images - 65%
85 animations - 30%
Scene creation - 75%
Storyboarding - 100%
Code - 30%
Dialogue - 55%
There's still a ton of work left on it but with me hiring help for it, things should start speeding up a lot. The work also hasn't been done in order so there's some gaps to fill in.
The animation PC I've built and added to my collection of PCs this week will also be used to start rendering rework animations as that's what we're most behind on.
There's work and progress happening everywhere and every day we're getting closer to finishing things. 👍
Lastly I wanted to share that annual patrons that signed up around 9-10 months ago have been getting locked out of content recently and I'm not sure why. I think this is due to me pausing pledges in March and April. I've tried contacting patreon about it but I have not heard back yet.
If anyone has experienced this and if you know how to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could share how with me.
