"The Gain" is essentially 'the volume' my voice is recorded at. I have to do this because I am speaking in a hushed tone, almost a whisper at times. When I increase the gain, unfortunately it also picks up more static & white noise when I am talking.
When I'm finished recording, I then have to remove that static/white noise, which damages the entire audio file.
While most of you might not notice the damage done to my voice in my recordings (i hide a lot of the damage with crickets / ocean / fireplace sound effects), I'm hoping when I'm all hooked up, you will notice a big difference in clarity. Almost as if it's the first time you've heard me clearly.
It should sound like I'm right there with you.
(Especially if you have a nice surround sound headset)
