Daemones et Serpentes
Added 2024-01-17 11:43:51 +0000 UTCEDIT:: Well, this has died on it's arse literally everywhere I've posted it, so in one final attempt to get some eyes on it I've done an edited NSFW version (the new first and second slides) that's going live on all platforms in a little while. I thought you guys should get to see it first :)
Soooooooo this one's a little different eh?! Wait... don't I say that every time now? Fuck... Anyway, this time it really is a bit different. I've always been a fan of Alphonse Mucha's work, the flowing shapes, beautiful women, elegance and some kind of other worldly serenity that seems to pour out of those illustations has always drawn me back (no pun intended) and while I've had a couple of relative successes at homages to his work for my day job, I've never tried to do a "real" pinup.
In addition to Mucha there's a lot of Bernie Wrightson and Frank Cho in the linework, and a little nod towards tattoos and tarot cards too. It's a bit like my brain really, a total melting pot that doesn't really function but somehow gets by 🤣
The title is literally just Demons and Serpents in Latin, courtesy of Google Translate... so it's quite possibly innacurate.
