Dragon Maid update

Back at it again with the dragon plapping! I've been working on the scene that follows right after the one I shared last week.

When I originally started this scene I was thinking to myself: "Ah this one shouldn't be too hard, I can reuse some of the movement from the previous shot and save some time". But the darn perfectionist in me basically made me redo it all since it is a close-up and you can see every detail better... I mean I think it's looking good so far, but it took me longer than I had planned for (as usual, haha).

For this scene too I decided to add those "pleasure spikes" on Tohru. It's a small detail but I do think it adds a lot.

And I recently realized another reason why I like the spikes is because it helps the animation rigs feel more like traditional drawings. Digital drawing and tweening can feel very stiff sometimes, so any trick to help avoid that feeling and make the drawings feel more natural is a big plus, even a tiny detail like this. It adds up!

But yeah I hope you like this shorter scene of Tohru about to bust- I was hoping to maybe have 2 scenes to share today but even with a bunch of tricks animation is still pretty tough, heh. Who knows maybe I'll have more luck next week!
