Dragon Maid update
Added 2025-04-30 01:11:06 +0000 UTCHello! The update I have for you today is definitely a bit different than what I usually post but I hope you still find it interesting.
I've been working recently on a scene right at the end of the animation - and just so I'm not causing any confusion I don't mean this is the final scene I needed to work on, I've still got other scenes to animate - and it's a gag where Tohru blows up Ilulu in anger after Kobayashi finds them mid-coitus. Here's the storyboards for the scene:
And here's how the explosion was looking:
I've never animated an explosion like this before but always kinda wanted to try, so I hope you'll forgive me for indulging in this little FX challenge, hehe. It's funny how much bigger the explosion got compared to the original sketch, but I thought it was looking pretty okay- good enough I hope!
I am still not entirely sure what I'll be doing for the "credits" at the end of the animation, but I've animated the billowing smoke on a loop so I could hold onto that shot as long as I needed to.
If you've seen the show you might also remember those eye-catchers between scenes, they look like this if you need refresher:
I was thinking of maybe doing something like this before credits... but instead using symbols like eggplant, sweat emoji, y'know a few "lewd" ones like that.
Anyway that's just an idea for now! Next update I'll probably be going back to the sexy stuff, which there is plenty of! And thank you so much for your continued support as I work on this ongoing project! I will keep doing my best to make it all worth your wait. Thank you!!

Ah well that's because that loading screen is just a screengrab from an episode haha. Sorry I should have clarified I didn't make that one, it was just the example of what I was thinking of.
