This is a fight in the Japanese featherweight division.
After Karen due to age stepped out of the junior league and entered the featherweight division at the age of 19 she won her first fight by way of knockout.
Being young and bold she accepted Ai Honda as her opponent for her second fight. For Honda, being the number #1 contender to the title, this fight was meant to be a preparation only for the task ahead of becoming the featherweight champion. She dominated the fight early on, and when she got Karen trapped in a corner she let loose. However, Karen belonged to the best in the junior league, and she was not to let Honda just pummel her. She returned fire, and after a few precise punches she chopped the number #1 contender, winning the fight by way of knockout in the first round.
Her third fight was with Kaitana Kamura. It showed that Kaitana was no match for Karen, and even before the bell ended the first round the refere had seen enough, and she stopped the fight to protect Kaitana from unnecessary injuries. Karen won the fight by way of technical knockout.
Tonight Karen is in the ring again. She goes into this fight with a 3-0 record, all of her victories have come by way of knockout. However, tonight she fights a veteran, Midori Utada, an experienced fighter who is not overconfident like Honda was.
Enjoy this fine piece of sport.
