Upcoming Changes to Patreon for US Donors

Patreon is going to be required to start collecting sales tax starting July 1st. The amount of sales tax will be based on your local sales tax, not the sales tax local to me. I will be altering the wording of my rewards tiers so that I can (hopefully) minimize the amount of sales tax you would have to pay.
The Deluxe tier for example.. You get a "digital good" for that.. Some states will not want sales tax for that. Some states will. But I can word the rewards text so that for this $12 tier, $6 is going to you wanting to give me a pat on the back and a happy smile. And the remaining $6 is for the actual animation value. This would cut the potential sales-taxable amount of your donation in half. While I would love to say that 90% of your pledge is for a pat on the back, and 10% is for the actual animation I suspect this might draw suspicion.
I'll make another post about this after I have made the changes and it's all set up. -likely next month.
