Oh...my...gawd...!


This animation dragging on...and on...!  I am nearing completion with the finger animation on one hand for the entire sequence.  Then I get to do it all over again for the other hand.  If I could make some animations of sexy amputees this would be so much easier!

It's all of the finger contacting her body that is killing it.  And I have a LOT of it in this animation because I felt it was so effective in the last one.  Probably a tactical error on my part. :)  Attached is a look at some of the keyframes for the fingers on one hand, as well as a small clip showing the fingers not penetrating her leg.

Other than that.. I -think- this will be the first Patreon animation using a feature in Lightwave called Virtual Studio Tools(VST)..  I've not dug very deep into it until now.  It lets me puppet elements with things like game controllers.  I animated her breathing using the throttle on my flight stick.  It worked out pretty well.  I expect I'll be using it to puppet her facial animation once these fingers are done (and no I can't use it to puppet her fingers and expect them not to sink below her body).

Well once you have a 3D point it becomes an inverse kinematics problem.

There is technically a method built right into LW. It's called Ray Cast. It would give a distance from one axis to a surface. I don't know how I would translate that to finger rotations though. I dunno. Maybe I'll experiment with that for her left hand.

Feels like there should be a way to procedurally do the finger collisions. Wonder if there is a plugin for that.
