Shoulder FEM Test
Added 2018-09-29 02:52:54 +0000 UTCAttached is a test I did will what could be full-body Finite Element Method (FEM) sims. The muscular body is driven by a skinny inner body, which is why this would make muscle growth easier. This also makes jiggling muscles very easy (not shown here).
There is one problem though, and that is where the arm lowers fully and you can see the skin twisting/pinching as the geometry gets pushed into a small space. The problem is this pinching is not natural-looking and is unacceptable.
I think there are ways around this problem, however... Patching less polygon-dense deformer models on top of the problem areas what would erase the twisting nature of the pinching.. I actually just thought of that as I am writing this. Hmm... I may have to run a 2nd test.
