Okay so resuming from yesterday... What I am doing is simulating the hair TWICE. Once with the hair stiff, like it was heavily hair-sprayed.. And then a 2nd time where the hair droops down. Then I blend the two resulting sims to get what you see here. This is more or less emulating the results I was after if the hair-bones feature worked properly. Necessity is the hot aunt of invention I guess.
Attached is the result of the blended hair sims in a preview anim, and a rendered image. I still have more hair locks to convert over to this new system... I'm about half done (It's taking forever), she is bald in the back. But it's looking great so far.
