It's not uncommon for those of us to ADHD to struggle getting to sleep (or staying asleep). But what's a Brain to do when the typical sleep strategies we often hear don't actually work for us? A lot of you asked for practical strategies... and we are here to deliver!

I LOVE that!!!!!

How to ADHD

This was a fun format! One thing that works for me, not everyone, is an e-reader that has a very low light mode. I put my Kindle Oasis into dark mode, extra large font, lowest backlight setting, and text oriented so that I can keep it propped up on its stand but read it while my head is sideways on the pillow. The e-reader means no video or scrolling on social media. I read only books I'm casually interested in—no current news or non-fiction I'm trying to learn. When I fall asleep, I don't lose my place in the book. I don't have to hold my hands in an unnatural way to keep the book open. The font is large enough I don't need my glasses. And because it's always the same e-reader, it works as a transition ritual.

omx are you me? that opening sequence is way too familiar. 😅 I think the biggest challenge for me is setting and keeping a consistent sleep schedule. thanks for this fun and informative video, I shared it with my therapist.
