v.0.28 Progress report (VI) - A bad week
Added 2025-10-19 12:18:15 +0000 UTCHave you ever felt, while cooking, that the dish wasn’t going to be as good as always, but then, when your guests taste it, they find it’s as good as the last time, if not better? That happens to me a lot when writing lewd scenes after having written more than 70. I feel something is off but, when my wife and stepson test them, they usually say the scene is good, adding minor suggestions.
That didn’t happen with the foursome scene. I felt it had something that didn’t work in the writing and, this time, my wife and stepson found it soulless. I wrote around 7,000 words (2,500 were done last week) and rendered 209 stills (the animations were done), and they told me to redo around 80% of the writing (only the first part and something in the middle was salvageable, according to them), keep most of the stills and all the animations, and expand the number of stills. Since I trust their opinion, I did as they suggested. Instead of trying to fix individual lines, I removed the parts not working for them and rewrote the whole scene.
This time, I didn’t feel it was bad. The scene grew to 9,000 words (for reference, Maddie’s whole scene was around 7,000 words), and the stills grew from 209 to 257 (tentatively, still 34 to render, so maybe I add some more). I still have to render some of the images before running the next round of testing with them, but I’m sure this time they will love it.
The scene now deals more deeply with the things they thought were lacking, so I hope for their approval.
Obviously, that sent my schedule (and my plan for a release before the end of the month) down the drain. I will try to make up for the lost time next week (they owe me a couple of free days at work, and I plan on grabbing them next week to push the update).
So, summarizing the week, I wrote 4,500 words and rendered 209 new images. Scrapped 5,500 words, wrote 7,500 extra words, and rendered around 20 extra images.
The update now is ~19,200 words and around 8,230 renders (with 7,311 in 38 animations).
Back to work!
