2025-07-02 18:50:01 +0000 UTCI thought this same thing when I saw the now infamous "foreign trip" clip from the debate. I have to be careful not to let my ideological priors cloud my judgement, but it came across as so utterly ridiculous that I couldn't help but think it was gonna backfire and be good press for Zohran. I used to think that the legacy media was smarter, but I think they really cannot fathom how thoroughly they have lost touch with the voting base of the Democrat party. It simply has not occured to them that they might ever face a political candidate who won't bow the knee, they can't figure out how to deal with it. As a side note: lots of places (including Citations Needed, I think) played a shortened version of the "foreign trip" clip that only showed the other candidates who said they would travel to Israel. Go watch the full clip -- because Zohran wasn't the only candidate who said something other than: "I'm gonna hop right on a plane, go suck Netanyahu's dick, and shine his shoes" but he was the only candidate that got a follow-on accusing him of antisemitism. In the full, the question was even more absurd than the media coverage suggested.

2025-07-02 13:36:02 +0000 UTCI keep thinking about this. The Dems are giving Mamdani incredible free press by being so vocally the wildly unpopular Pro-Genocide politician. Imagine carrying such an unpopular stance, and directly comparing it to something so understood like cost of living. It’s actually so sad they sold their souls and have to parrot the most heartless and disgusting talking points. Embarrassing for them. I have to believe more normal people see it for what it is now.
