Oh Israel would do the same without US support? If only there was one way to find out if that's true 🤔🤔

Second, a great briefing. Although Harris is not responsible for Biden's assisting the on-going genocide (what power/authority does the VP really have?), it is important to ask what her policy would be should she be elected. Merely having greater sympathy for the Palestinians is, as you said, not worth a great deal. I understand her reluctance to commit, and we know Trump will continue Biden's policy, but we should demand to know how Harris will or will not be different. Finally, there is something very suspect about the reported casualty figures from Gaza. After increasing steeply month after month, they seem to have plateaued at about 40K deaths for some time now, despite no obvious diminishment in the intensity of the Israeli air and ground assault. My guess is the numbers are way underreported, perhaps from a breakdown in Palestinian reporting ability or perhaps something more nefarious.

First, a very minor quibble. The only country that has F-22s is the USA. Congress explicitly forbade the export of F-22s to any other country.

Thanks guys. Always look forward to these episodes and appreciate the surgically-precise analysis.

The New York Times is apparently going after the double pronged strategy of, in some of their reporting, pretending that Harris has meaningfully departed from Biden's genocidal policies on Palestine and, in other instances, pretending that US support for genocide wasn't actually a wedge between the Democrats and their electoral base in the first place. This from the newsletter this morning: "Biden had so many problems that it’s hard to say what was really behind the collapse in his support. Was it that young voters were more bothered by his appearance than older voters? Was it the rising cost of living and housing? Was it a new social media environment and fading memories of Trump’s conduct? Was it an unmet desire for change? Or was it something bigger — the belated extension of Trump’s breakthrough among white working-class voters to populist anti-establishment voters of all races?" It would be funny if I didn't remember the Democrats convincing themselves that Russia was the reason they lost in 2016. Great show guys -- I'm really enjoying your work and recommending it to everyone I know.

I want to share this so passive-aggressively on my social media
