Forest Props Process
Added 2023-01-04 08:29:02 +0000 UTC
The Council recently voted on a selection of Forest themed props to go along with the recently released Forest "Walls" terrain pieces and I thought it might be fun to show the initial sketches, the line art, shading/highlighting, and then the color blocking that happens before I get to the final art used in the miniatures.
Prop - Stump - 01

Prop - Bush - 01

Prop - Log - 01

From here I'll probably tweak the colors a bit and then do 3-4 alternate color options that'll be available for Tier 3+ Patrons.
They're nothing to crazy, but as a start they should provide some generic bits of woodland terrain to accent the Forest "walls". Maybe for future forest props we can get a bit crazier - Fey portal, overgrown alter, etc ?
Anyhow, let me know if you enjoy these little process break downs, happy to do more of 'em in the future if folks are finding them fun/insightful.
Cheers!

2023-01-04 19:01:17 +0000 UTCI'm always pretty cautious about adding extra assembly steps as each level of complexity makes it less accessible to people. For making something that miniatures could stand on I'd probably go with making a flat top down log "token" that miniatures could then just be placed on top of - serves the same function of providing a "bridge" but the only assembly is just cutting it out.

2023-01-04 13:32:14 +0000 UTCWould you consider print logs that you could cut, fold and glue into boxes. That'd be great for minis to stand on.
