Patreon Fee Change - Update

Last week Patreon announced a change in how they were going to handle processing fees on patron's pledges which I made an announcement and shared my thoughts about here.
Patreon just announced that due to the massive amount of feedback and frustration expressed by creators they are no longer going to implement that fee change. You can check out their post here.
They will still have to solve the problems their fee change meant to address, but it looks like they plan to be much more transparent and collaborative in finding their solutions in the future.
For now this is a rather amazing win for creators and patrons.

2017-12-13 21:45:50 +0000 UTCYeah, that they'd be willing to change course on something they'd invested and been working on for apparently a year or so is pretty amazing given how easy it would have been for them to just pull the trigger. It's nice to see that they're not too big/corporate that they don't recognize the need to listen to and repair relationships with their creators & the patrons that make it possible.
