Umber Hulk Paper Miniature

[Update 8/28/2017] -------

Hey everyone. So I goofed up. The Umber Hulk paper miniature is protected under product identity of Wizard of the Coast and as such I can't in good conscience release it outside of the DMsGuild.

So, the bad news is I wont be able to give out my source PSD files for this miniature, but the good news is that the miniature, all of it's recolors, and it's cut files are now available for free to everyone via the DMsGuild here:

Special shout out and thanks to all of the Tier 5+ Council Members who voted on the Umber Hulk sketch, gave me the awesome idea for the zombie version, and helped me select the color options. Thank you!

Looks like the product is on this page? https://litko.net/collections/gmb714

The best thing that I have found are binder clips. You can get them in a bunch of sizes and the silver tabs pop right off once you clamp the paper minifigures. Give it a shot! they are dirt cheep as well. =)

I second the Litko suggestion. For paper minis, I much prefer a flat, clear base with a slightly curved slot, which hold the paper minis nicely. The Patherfinder pawn and similar bases are made for thicker cardboard pawns and do not work well with card-stock minis.

Just an extra strip or more cuts of the mini?

I've bought a couple sets of the pathfinder pawns bases, and while they require a little thicker minis to fit well they can be had for about 6-7$ for a decent assortment of sizes, (2 huge, 4 large and 8 medium)

Cardstock is definitely the way to go. I actually put an extra piece of cardstock between the two layers when I spray adhesive on them, as the three layers fit nicely into the plastic bases I use, besides being even more rigid. For larger ones like the giants I use 5 layers.

I recommend using card stock or thicker for the larger minis. Something that I've used before when I've only had plain printer paper to work with is to cut out a thin strip of paper and fold it in half and then fold out each side again to make this shape: _/\_ and then glue the initial folded part of the strip in between the two sides of the miniature with the two bottom tabs sticking out. I'll then glue the strips tabs between the miniatures tabs to the base. I also like to use Elmer's extra strength glue sticks as the glue doesn't add a lot of weight to the miniature. I hope that helps?

Litko makes some nice paper miniature bases and stands. There are fewer options for Huge and Gargantuan sizes, and they're more expensive unfortunately. http://www.litko.net/categories.php?category=Bases-%26-Base-Bottoms/Paper-Miniature-Bases-%26-Stands

I'm having problems with the bigger ones standing straight up. Any suggestions or ideas for using a pathfinder pawm type base?
