v.0.24 Progress report (III)
Added 2025-03-02 13:13:31 +0000 UTCI am usually excited to tell you what I have done during the week. This time it's different.
I haven't been in a good place the last few weeks. There are rumors of staff cuts in my company and that, those who keep their jobs, will do so under worse conditions. Home office days look like the first thing they will cut.
I didn't think it was affecting me, but when I read everything I've written in the last two weeks to start putting the scenes together with the renders... it was crap. I guess it affected me more than I expected.
So, I'm back to the same place I was some days ago (with more renders done) and I'm rewriting the first scene.
Right now I can't count words because I don't know what is definitive and what isn't, so I can't give you a report about it.
The renders are easier to count. The update, right now, has 27 animations (with over 8,460 frames) and 79 still renders. From now on, there will be mostly still renders, so the rendering part will be "fast" once the script is rewritten.
I'm sorry this happened, and I will try to make up for the lost production days.
On the other hand, there is good news about the Steam release. The store page has been approved (not the game, yet)

So it can be wishlisted now. Wishlisting it, even if you don't plan to buy it, do me a great favor because the number of people wishlisting it is correlated to the visibility the game gets when it's launched.
I don't know when (or if) they will approve it, but it still needs some work before launch and I won't spend a minute on it until 0.24 is out. My plan is for a release before summer. When? I don't know.

2025-03-02 18:29:27 +0000 UTCGetting the game onto STEAM is huge for income wise. Getting ALL seasons on STEAM is now a MUST. Much as I don't like having a client service envolved this would give EVERYONE access to the game in legit form. And as long as it is not "Locked to STEAM dependancy" like House Party ended up becoming around version 1.0 we can buy it from Valve / STEAM then copy the Ren'py game files to a different folder and play it from that folder without having to launch the STEAM client. I hate having anyone look over my shoulder no matter what I am doing. This includes playing ANY form of game.

My wife works for a unspecified government agency serving veterans and with all of the hooplah going on she is concerned about not just loosing her job but in the event she does not loose it she may be downgraded which reduces her pay, and still be expected to perform the same responsibilities of the higher ranked office. Freaking Musk!!!! Effeciency my ass!!. Anyway. Do what you gotta do dude! You da Dude! Remember that Trope!!!! ALL HAIL TROPECITA!
