While working in the next update, the rendering computer is idle until I have something to render, but for that I need to write the scenes first.
So I decided to do a test of how the first renders I did (that looked awfully grainy) would look now that I understand why they were so bad.
In this case, the first appearance of Emma and Erika.
My old computer couldn't cope with the whole scenario, so Norah's house and the fences were hidden to save a bit of VRAM. The darker image is the old one, in case anyone had doubts.
The only changes done are showing those assets and changing the camera type. I'm amazed at how different they look.
I won't do a full rework of Season 1, but some images (the most grainy or those that create continuity issues like the first scene at the pool, where the forest that surrounds the houses isn't there) will be re-rendered for the definitive version that will include the features of Season 2-3 like the gallery. It will be a lengthy process because I don't want it to impact on the current development, and I will only send renders when the rendering computer has no renders for the next update to do.
And someone says an old dog can't learn new tricks. I was old when I started doing the game!
