Here's out newest map set with two new maps!
The first map is the Cloud Fortress [30x55]:
The fortress floats high above the world, held aloft by ancient magics. Built during the great wars, it was the vision of a powerful archmage. With the aid of skilled masons and enchanters, the fortress was created to be an impregnable bastion against evil. Over centuries, it became a beacon of military might, its library a treasure trove of arcane lore, its tower a center of magical innovation.
Now, the fortress stands vigilant against new threats. A dark alliance, led by a formidable necromancer, seeks to plunder its secrets. The fortress’s defenses, bristling with ballistae and mangonels, are tested constantly. A seasoned warrior commands the garrison with unwavering resolve, training the soldiers to withstand any siege.
Within the fortress, life goes on. The storage area holds essential supplies, enchanted to stay fresh. Soldiers rest and train in the barracks tower, while the fortress' wizard researches in the mage tower. The library, managed by a wise librarian, remains a sanctuary of knowledge, protected by ancient wards.
Potential Encounters:
Magical Duels. The mage tower hosts a series of duels to test the apprentices and keep their skills sharp. The party can participate or observe these duels, which may lead to friendly rivalry, new alliances, or uncovering a deeper plot among the mages.
Siege Defense. The fortress comes under direct attack by flying creatures or siege engines from the Shadow Consortium. The party must man the ballistae and mangonels, coordinating with the defenders to repel the assault and protect key areas of the fortress.
Shadow Consortium Infiltration. A small team of Shadow Consortium agents has managed to infiltrate the fortress, disguised as new recruits. They aim to sabotage the defenses and steal valuable artifacts from the library. The party must identify and neutralize the infiltrators before they can execute their plan.
The second map is the Mining Encampment [30x40]:
Nestled deep within the rugged mountains, the mining encampment began fifty years ago when an adventuring party discovered rich veins of mithril in a series of caverns. Initially a small operation with a few tents and a makeshift forge, the encampment quickly grew into a bustling hub as miners, blacksmiths, and traders flocked to the area. The installation of rails for mining carts and the construction of key buildings like a large tavern and a general store marked its transformation into a thriving boomtown.
The miners live in sturdy canvas tents, forming a tight-knit community despite the harsh conditions. The tavern serves as the social heart of the encampment, where deals are struck, and tales are shared over ale. The general store, run by a shrewd merchant, provides essential supplies and acts as a trading post. However, recent eerie occurrences in the mines, including mysterious disappearances and ghostly sightings, have stirred unease among the inhabitants.
Adding to the tension, bandit raids have become more frequent, and there are whispers of an underdark faction plotting to seize control of the mines.
Potential Encounters:
Bandit Raid. A group of bandits plans to attack the encampment to seize its valuable resources. The party must help set up defenses, rally the miners, and engage the bandits in a chaotic and strategic battle on the outskirts of the encampment.
Tavern Brawl. A bar fight breaks out in the tavern over a disputed gem. The party needs to quell the brawl and restore order, using non-lethal means to subdue the combatants and mediate the dispute to prevent further violence.
Underdark Intruders. Creatures from the underdark have spilled out of the mines and threaten to take over the camp. The party must confront these sinister invaders, and uncover their motives to secure the safety of the encampment.
