The smelter's process is a highly guarded secret and nobody is allowed within the refinery's walls without guild membership. Even guests of the guild are rarely permitted entry, although they are invited to come purchase ingots or sell ore outside. Gaining membership to the guild can be an arduous process: it requires a moderate amount of alchemical knowledge as well as an exceptional amount of constitution to withstand the high heat maintained within.
