Map Set 36 Gold (Dwarven Mithril Mine and Rivercliff Village)

Here's our newest map set with two new maps!

The first map is Dwarven Mithril Mine (25x35):

The dwarven lust for the precious metal mithril is legendary. A proper dwarven miner would give his left hand just for a hint at locating a new mithril vein. As such, the desire for mithril is also accompanied by an intense paranoia that everybody else is after it as well. Wherever it is found they move quickly to extract it as efficiently as possible, forging the ore into ingots to be transported to the finest smiths in the realm. These mines are often well-guarded by heavily-armed patrols and traps. Even the miners themselves are capable warriors; mining mithril takes a hardy sort and makes them even hardier over the years.

Encounter Prompts:

• A Small Request: An elven smith has been tasked with forging an exceptional ring as a gift for the king. He'll handsomely pay for a single mithril ingot, with no questions asked about how it was obtained.
• Dug Too Deep: Fearsome subterranean beasts have ascended from the pits in the mine and driven the miners away. Anybody willing to kill the creatures or drive them away will be rewarded with gold; or mithril with some convincing.
• Kobold Intruders: Kobold scouts have recently been spotted near the mine and the miners fear an attack. Many of the mine guards have left to protect an ingot shipment, so they could use a little outside help should a nearby kobold clan      attempt to invade.

The second map is Rivercliff Village (40x40):

Rivercliff is a hidden village, nestled among the caverns above a raging river, protected from the warring and politicking of nearby kingdoms. The villagers generally wish to be left alone as their daily needs are mostly met by the water below: fresh water to drink and plenty of fish to eat. Everybody that lives in Rivercliff learns how to climb and swim at an early age. Outsiders are often viewed with a fair amount of skepticism by the elders, but everybody else will pester visitors about news and information about the world beyond the cliffs.

Encounter Prompts:

• Ooze Zone: Dangerous oozes have been seeping into the natural springs of Rivercliff. Find out what's attracting them and put their incursions to a stop.
• Teacher's Pet: The local schoolteacher's pet rat has gone missing. She hopes one of the students rat-napped it but fears the local herbalist's cat might have had something to do with it.
• Roc Egg: One of the stable hands recently found a roc egg and has been hiding it the stables for several days. Now the egg's mother has flown to Rivercliff, and she's not pleased.
