Map Set 30 Gold (Old Battlefield Caravan and House on the Edge of the World)

Here's our newest map set with two new maps!

The first is Old Battlefield Caravan (40x40). A mysterious group of travelling folk, nomads from a far-off land have set up camp in a clearing that once hosted two ancient armies embattled over some forgotten slight. The undead spirits of those lost in that battle are said to still wander the grounds, sometimes searching for lost comrades. In other times they are still locked in combat with their old enemies. The travelers are thought to be descendants of one of the warring tribes, they search for ancestral artifacts: rusted arrowheads, broken weapons, and ossified remains.

Encounter Ideas:

• Eternal Duel - Every midnight two ghostly apparitions appear to duel each other until dawn. Each duel ends with the same victor. A travelling sage believes if the losing apparition was to win their souls would finally be at rest.
• The Kingblade - Rumors abound that a king fell in battle at this site and that his sword is hidden somewhere in the field. A festival is held each year promising a king's bounty for whoever should find the blade.
• Dead Arise - While camping with the traveling folk odd moans can be heard in the distance. Soon waves of zombies and skeletons are upon the party. Do they hold off the undead horde long enough for the travelers to escape? Or do they hope the traveling folk are enough of a distraction to save their own skins?

The second map is the House on the Edge of the World (30x30). It serves as a minor trading post for travelers of both the terrestrial and astral variety. The proprietor has a few spare beds as well as a hearty meal for a few coin or trinkets. Books and scrolls are of particular interest but the proprietor also values any oddities from far off lands. With luck she may also have a few magic items to trade, at a cost requisite to their rarity.

Encounter Ideas:

• Fey Menace - Some mischievous sprites have built a fairy circle on the astral pier and the proprietor needs help removing it. Convince them to leave, scare them off, or use some other method to remove them.
• Abandoned - The house appears empty but still clean and recently lived in. As the party searches the residence they can't shake the feeling they're being watched. They hear strange noises but can't find the source, items shift positions when they aren't looking.
• A Risky Proposal - A wizard asks for help obtaining a rare and valuable spell component, hydrostars, from the bottom of the waterfall. However, it's dangerous to traverse the waterfall as there are water elementals within that dislike trespassers.

Hard to believe we're already on our 30th map set. What a trip! I'm looking into setting up a discord server in the near future once I have some time to figure out how it works. I also have some ideas for additional content, probably 5e focused, to supplement the maps we make.
