Community Map Ideas Announcement!

As a huge thanks for all the support we really want to start creating maps that our community wants made instead of just doing whatever random things pop into our heads.  We think the easiest way to make this work will be to collect a list of map ideas from all you kind folks and use that to create a poll that the community can vote on to determine what gets made next. This is some new territory for us so it might take a little bit to work out the kinks, but we're confident we can figure it out in due time.

For now we think the easiest way to collect these map ideas will be to either put them as a comment to this post or to send us a direct message. Since we're still in the experimental phase the map ideas should be something that can be done in a single-level 50x40 (2000 squares) or smaller map scale. We want to make sure we can still make these maps up to our current standards (or better!) so we don't want to go too overboard on map size just yet. Once we're confident we can get these done efficiently we can start relaxing the constraints a bit. If there's lots of map ideas we'll save those that don't end up in the next poll for future polls. Currently there's already maps in development for the upcoming map set so we'll be using these community map ideas in the map set following the next one, which should give us enough time to collect the ideas and create the poll.

Also, we prefer succinct descriptions of a sentence or two so folks won't have to read a novel to get through the polls. Some examples:

• A lush garden surrounds a circular graveyard. Flowers decay around the central fountain.
• Wrecked ships loosely connected to a central asteroid housing a space diner.
• A rust monster racing track with manned metal-launching stations to lure them.

So, here's your chance to get some battle maps made for your current homebrew, 3rd party, or official adventures in the Wizgrids' style. Maybe you want something for random monster encounters, trap rooms or boss lairs. Feel free to get weird!

Request your map ideas (50x40 or smaller) in this post's comments or through DMs. Shorter is better. We'll run a poll in a few days to determine what maps get made next.
