Here's our newest map set with 2 new battlemaps!
The first is the Golden Temple of the Sun, a multilevel structure with an open-air central hall of worship with clear visibility to the sky. Devotees revel in the warmth of the sun during services at high noon. Some believe the large statue on the temple's grounds to be an actual solar that lies in wait to defend the temple should the need arise. Visitors occasionally lay offerings at the shrine in the top level to curry the favor with the sun gods. The temple could be a good place for any sort of magical healing or curse removal that the party needs, but it could also be a good place for some staged battles. A waved based battle with the players defending congregants at the top of the temple could be particularly interesting with the multiple paths that enemies could take to get to the top. Archers can climb onto the walls to get the high ground to defend against flying creatures or just to get an advantage on attacking from below.
The second is the Lightning Arcade which has a lot of opportunities for cover and concealment, especially with the ball pit; I could imagine a pretty large creature hiding in there, or maybe some loot the party has to find. There is only one real exit/entrance, but there are a bunch of windows that could serve as either in a jam. They could also spend some time playing skee ball or pinball for tickets to redeem at the prize counter for toys, stuffed animals or magic items perhaps? The concession stand on the second level can be a good place to recover some health or to get all hyped up on caffeine for the next fight. The break-room could be a good place to put a mcguffin that the party needs, either hidden in the lockers or one of the defunct arcade cabinets in the back.
