Australian Floods
Added 2022-03-01 02:28:28 +0000 UTCYou may have heard about the floods in Australia, and you might see the suburb of Goodna being mentioned a lot. Last time, in 2011, I lost just about everything. This time I'm way above the flood line, and I was telling someone just this morning that I was fine.
Turns out the studio flooded some time after Saturday morning. So Tuesday morning I go to get one of my industrial hair-blowing fans, only to find that the studio's under 1cm of water. Now all my fans are dedicated to that purpose...
The white painted floor is bubbling up in many places, and the cyc wall is probably going to need another poorly implemented repair. I'm no carpenter, I'm amazed I built it reasonably well the first time, but every time I have to tear a chunk out to repair the water damage, it gets less effective.
Now I need to figure out where the water came in, because I cleared all the drains and dug big trenches all around the building before it rained. I'm quite surprised it got in again.
So yeah, fun times!

There's nothing new happening, just the still-happening flooding and cleanup. In my area (Ipswich/Brisbane, Queensland) the water's long gone. It's down south in NSW that's getting the worst of it right now. My fingers remain firmly crossed...
